Our Worship Arts ministry is a vibrant, exciting place to serve the Lord here at The Heights. We are a team of worship leaders who love one another, strive for excellence, and are committed to leading our congregation in worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ in spirit and truth.
Along with opportunities to sing and play an instrument at The Heights, we also use creative arts such as acting and dance to express our awe and honor for the Lord. Christmas and Easter are always exciting times for our ministry to get as many people involved as possible in telling His story through drama, dance, imagery and song. Our ultimate desire is to glorify God and draw people close to Him through praise and celebration. Won’t you join us?
We have found that as we reach our community for Christ in this diverse culture, believers come into the church desiring to express their worship in a way that is relevant and a reflection of who they are in Christ. Therefore, our worship services go in more than one direction stylistically; however, the message always remains the same.
At our Colonial Heights campus, we have two morning services. (9:15 AM & 10:45 AM), and one evening service (5:00pm)
The morning services include a multi-generational choir, orchestra and praise team. The music selection in these services is a blend of contemporary praise and worship songs, current anthems and special music. These services appeal to a wide-range of our congregation from young families to our older generation. You’ll enjoy an uplifting and joyous time of worship.
American Sign Language is available for both deaf and hearing impaired individuals during our 10:45 AM worship service.
- Our choir & orchestra is a group of individuals of all ages and backgrounds who combine their talents to worship God through song. We rehearse on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM. The choir meets in the choir room, led by our Worship Pastor. The orchestra meets in the worship center, led by our Worship Associate. We join together later in the evening to rehearse that Sunday’s set list.
- Our praise team is a group of seasoned choir members who have auditioned for and been selected by the Worship Pastor.
- Interested: Please contact us if you are interested in joining us or would like more information.
NOTE: Auditions are not required for choir participation. Auditions are required for orchestra and praise team.
- Planning Center Online: An online tool we use to provide future set lists, as well as audio tracks & sheet music, in order for our team to rehearse at their convenience throughout the week.
The evening service (5:00pm). This time of worship will have a distinct look and feel that is different from our morning services. There will be band driven worship, lively community, and a casual atmosphere and service flow. Though many things look different, Pastor Randy will be preaching the same message as he does in the morning worship hours. While Sunday nights are open for all ages, we are encouraged about the opportunity it will provide for us to reach young adults and the next generation. We are excited about the new service and invite you to consider choosing it as your hour of worship!
At our Midlothian campus, we have one service. (10:45 am) This campus is led by a Campus Pastor. It includes a live worship band and a big screen projection of that Sunday morning’s sermon by our Senior Pastor. This service is growing and seems to be drawing a wide range of people from the community; young, old, singles, couples, families are all coming. The atmosphere is smaller, warm and inviting. The music includes a variety of current and familiar praise choruses selected to inspire and encourage.
